I was searching around on the internet when I came across an interesting posting.  This is a juice company in Singapore.  I just thought their packaging was brilliant.  The company is Wild Bunch & Company Juice and the packaging is a single shot container.

Twist on Words

I saw print ad from a clothing store web-site, Lemon Twist, and it drew my attention.  What a great play on words.  The thing is you really have to read the ad then look at the picture.  It makes sense after a minute.  Now isn't it a great use of words and images.

WORD & LYRICS

This is an interesting site that I thought I would share with everyone.  The site is The Designers Mixtape It allows you to create a mix tape of all the songs you enjoy.  In a sense you become the designer of your vocal word.  Or that is the way I am putting it.  But really, it is a fun way to mix up the music you love and mark who you enjoy listening to.

In Her Shoes

One of my favorite movies is In Her Shoes" with Cameron Diaz, Toni Collette, and Shirley MaClaine.  In the movie, Cameron Diaz gives her sister Toni Collette a poem on her wedding day.  It is a poem by E. E. Cummings called I Carry Your Heart With Me.  Here is the Poem:

I carry your heart with me.  I carry it in my heart.  I am never without it.

Anywhere I go, my dear and whatever is done only me is doing, my darling

I fear, no fate for you are my fate, my sweet. 

 I want no world. For beautiful you are my world, my true

and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant

I think this poem is just beautiful.  It makes me think of all the amazing things we see, hear, feel, and taste that add to our everyday life.  It talks about carrying these things in ourselves and releasing them to the world so that others can experience apart of what makes us whole.  This poem and movie are both great displays of emotional connections between people and places.

Sophia bookshop in Thessaloniki

Architects Nikos Kalogirou and Evangelos Kotsioris stated in an interview that the bookshop was a "experiment with triangulated surfaces and distorted multiple reflections."  I feel the space is a hugh celebration of triangulation, distortion, and reflection.

Ok...so if you don't know Dave Matthews is my favorite band.  I listen to his music all the time but mostly when I am at a point where I need some inspiration in my life.  He has the most beautiful lyrics.  I have picked one song this week that I feel lead me to think of my recent design.

The song is One Sweet World.  Here is a view into the wonderful world of Dave Matthews.  I hope he inspires you too.....

You have to listen to it to get the full effect but it is just a sweet song about the world.

Just a Thought

I found this illustration or advertisement on Leigh Wells site.  I first looked at it then read the caption and thought it was a great use of words in imagery.  It really made me think about time, repetition, and life.  Look at it first then read this caption:

Wall Art

This is just a great ad.  It reminds me of an image that used to be on this restaurant wall in Chicago, IL.  The interior was adorned with comic book images.  The comic book story was actually the history of how the restaurant came to be.  I used to love the place because when you were in the environment you felt like you were part a real life comic.  WOW those where great times!

What makes a WORD a WORD

I found this word on the internet and I was just wondering if this is really a word.  If not...well then I still think it is great.  I think I will try to use it in a sentence.  Marvelousity like something that we aspire to be or create or do.  That is how I see this word.
